let me introduce myself, My name is Vitaliy and I figured I
would start keeping a record of our Camaro rebuilds. My buddy mike has had a
1969 Camaro for some 20 years now and I recently purchased a 1967 Camaro and
this blog is meant to keep track of everything that we do to these vehicles
ok so, a little about Mike and I, were both E5s in the navy
and are in the aviation structural mechanic field. Both of us love classic cars
and mike is an actual mechanic while Im more of an enthusiast, he has a lot
more experience with this stuff then i do so im kinda in it for the ride.
A bit about the 67 Camaro, I found her on Craigslist about a
month ago and the guy was asking $5000.00 for her in fairly much beat up shape,
she was missing the whole front clip and was taken apart; the good thing was
that the whole body was straight and most of the interior and rear was still
there. After talking to the guy we talked him down to $3500.00 and got it
hauled away that same day. The car also came with all matching numbers including
a inline 6 motor that was out of it, and even better news is that there wqas a
fresh fully rebuild 0 mile Chevy 350 mounted on it.
moving on to the 69. Mike has hasn’t this car since like
1990 and has worked on it many times, he wrecked it on a test run about two
years ago and now its time to rebuild as soon as we get off this deployment.
The 69 is an SS with a 406, t350 and 383 gears, cant wait to see both of these
girls out on the road.
There’s a lot that has happened along the lines of these vehicles
and ill post a few more things in sequential order until i am caught up on
where the project currently stands
