Frame build

The frame was painted and the new hardware is installed, disk brakes, springs and such, mike pointed something interesting out while the whole thing was apart, when we got the car it didn't have a sway bar, only took us 3 months to realize that, so now one needs to be ordered, the one good thing of all this is that the original 14 inch rims still fit even with the disk brakes.

Frame stripping

The rest of the frame stripped to bare metal

Begging the frame repair

The front frame got completely torn down and repairs on the body mounts have began, lots of handy work to undo and properly fix.

Firewall repair

While the rear panel has arrived and the quarter panel still in the process of being purchased mike focused on another workable aspect of the car, the firewall and the rust underneath where the wiper motor was leaking, after he was gone he tacked the side cowls on before running out of argon.

all the rust is now gone and filled

Rear end damage

YAY, shes back in the garage and more work can commence.

We tried fitting the taillights in correctly but noticed that something wasn't right, the car had been SERIOUSLY rear ended and someone did a VERY god job with Bondo to hide the damage, after a few hits with a screw drive 2 inches fell off the back, long story short, new rear tail light panel and new full rear left quarter

Rolled outside

Mike finally moved into the house and during the move room was needed s the 67 got bolted together and rolled outside for a little while since its the only one that has a windshield

Engine Removal

So today was a fairly productive day, ended up a free engine stand at Harbor Freight because the cashier was an idiot and managed to ring up a $70 stand as a $3.99 tarp, didn't even notice until after the fact. Picked up a replacement T350 for the 69 Camaro from a buddy of mine that had a spare in his garage from his 72 Chevelle that he had no need for.

Separated the motors from the frames on both cars and noticed that the 69 had blown exhaust gaskets which is weird since the motor was never run under load? good thing we cought it and will now replace with aluminum gaskets.

Power washed the frame on the 67 and next time im at the shop ill completely disassemble it, strip it bear and repaint it properly and i guess assemble the front disk brakes and install the springs instead of the wood thats there to hold the whole thing togather, also will need to replace from lower left control arm as its rusted a bit.

Body Mount Repairs

We purchased one set of the frame repair plates for 60 bu and after realizing that we can just make these ourselves a quick trip to Lowes and purchasing a chunk of metal and a 1.5 inch metal bit we just cut the second set for less then 25 bux

Found A Little Issue

After Taking the front clip off we noticed a small issue with mikes Camaro, while mounting the shifter way back someone had a bright idea to drill straight through into the T350 case, now there are 2 nice holes all the way through the transmission housing.

Seperating the frames

We seperated the front clip from the rest of the cars to do mount repairs, and what do you know, both of the cars need all 4 body mounts repaired
